Blind moment
Experiment with letting go
The “blind moment” is an exercise that allows you to physically test your trust in the other person.
Time needed: 15 to 20 minutes
Materials:
A room or space that is large and uncluttered enough to allow movement
As a facilitator, you ask the group to form pairs. Each member of the pair will experience the two roles of the exercise: “blind person” and “guide”.
For two to five minutes, the “guide” gives the “blind person” information that allows them to move around with their eyes closed. To do this, they use the following code:
Once the time is up, the pair switches roles.
At the end of the exercise, you can invite participants to share their feelings (fears, perception of space, etc.) by highlighting aspects that they found more or less easy/difficult.
